I had the awesome privilege to be the photographer at this years FALSD/PALSD annual installation dinner. And, thank you all, for allowing me to be your photographer!
How it happened!
This opportunity definitely falls under the “being at the right place at the right time” type of scenario. On the other hand, it is also definitely meeting the right person at the right time – especially when the said person happens to be the busiest person I know!
I met Beth, formally, at one of my son’s karate classes. Ironically, it actually took me a little while to realize that her son also happens to be a classmate of my eldest son. Not too long after, I openly shared with her how I put my business on hold and stayed at home for 5 years to spend time and raise 3 kids – two boys, 5 & 3-years-old and an almost 1.5-year-old baby girl (for more about us, feel free to go to our About Us page!).
The 5 years were worth it. But after the 5-year hiatus, and all the kids growing up too fast, we, unfortunately, found ourselves hitting a wall financially. It was finally time to jump-start our business again.
After relocating to San Diego in 2012, we left most of our clients – minus one – in Los Angeles. We then moved even further south last year, opening ourselves up to another set of clientele. Within the short conversation we had, Beth sweetly and quickly signed up! But, of course, she didn’t just sign up for a simple family photos shoot – which, by the way, is still pending. She went over and beyond and put in a recommendation for us to be the photographer at this large event! Her hope was to possibly bring me more clients and also connect me with more people! And hopefully, it did!
After the big event!
It was crazy running and weaving in and out between 300+ people. It was definitely a good “baptism-by-fire” into our business again. But I thoroughly enjoyed my time. I was so well taken care of, as a vendor. Everyone at the dinner was incredibly nice! I wish I could have gotten the time to sit down, chat and get to know people, but, of course, duty comes first! However, if you are ever in the need of a photographer and are interested in saying “hi”, BOOK A SESSION WITH US!
Without further ado…
Out of 500+ photos and 200 edited, I made a quick preview of some of our favorite photos! Enjoy!
